The 1957 300 SL looks like it was built for speed, and it was: Both this model and its famous “Gullwing” predecessor were essentially Mercedes-Benz race cars modified for the street — a common development now, revolutionary at the time. @MBClassicCenter #MBClassic #PebbleBeach #PebbleConcours #PebbleCars #300SL A video posted by Mercedes-Benz USA (@mbusa) on Aug 15, 2016 at 5:44pm PDT

The 280 SE’s designers smoothed out its predecessor’s tailfins to add to its streamlined elegance. The narrow taillights were another design innovation and a Mercedes-Benz hallmark. @MBClassicCenter #MBClassic #PebbleBeach #PebbleConcours #PebbleCars #280SE A video posted by Mercedes-Benz USA (@mbusa) on Aug 17, 2016 at 6:25am PDT

With 18 years of production history, the R107 SL still maintains an unbeaten production record of 237,287 vehicles. Chances are excellent you’ll still see one on the road from time to time. Especially when the sun’s out. @MBClassicCenter #MBClassic #PebbleBeach #PebbleConcours #PebbleCars #380SL A video posted by Mercedes-Benz USA (@mbusa) on Aug 17, 2016 at 5:49pm PDT
